This is a unique opportunity to leverage your clinical expertise and educational experience to ensure the development and deployment of high-quality, accessible healthcare solutions.

About the Opportunity:

This role offers a compelling chance to contribute to Elsevier Health's mission of driving informed decision-making across global health. You will be instrumental in managing the evaluation of GenAI Health Solutions, with a specific focus on reference products designed for clinicians and students. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Product Development Support: Contributing to product development through routine surveillance, analyzing user feedback, and conducting pre-market evaluations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with stakeholders across Clinical Solutions and other Elsevier teams to achieve overarching business goals, reporting directly to the Physician Lead of GenAI Evaluation.
  • Developing Evaluation Sets: Creating comprehensive evaluation sets for GenAI tools used in point-of-care, continuing, and graduate medical education, ensuring they are tailored to specific product requirements and diverse user needs.
  • Ensuring Inclusivity: Designing evaluation methods that encompass a wide array of clinical specialties, query types, and interest groups, promoting equitable access and representation.
  • Leading Evaluations: Spearheading and participating in the evaluation of GenAI outputs, utilizing both clinical experts and automated systems for robust assessment.
  • Validating Automated Methods: Supporting the creation and validation of automated evaluation methods, a crucial step in scaling and refining AI-driven assessment.
  • Strategic Coordination: Aligning evaluation strategies with Operations, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless product integration and launch.
  • Scoping and Problem Identification: Designing and conducting scoping evaluations to proactively identify potential product challenges and areas for improvement.
  • Managing Clinical Evaluators: Overseeing clinical evaluators and effectively incorporating their structured feedback into comprehensive assessments.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Documenting evaluation results and sharing key findings with stakeholders, as well as analyzing data trends to inform future product development.

Advantages for Your Career Path:

  • Pioneering Work: Be at the forefront of GenAI innovation in healthcare, a rapidly evolving and impactful field.
  • Influence Product Development: Directly contribute to the design and refinement of tools that will shape medical education and clinical practice.
  • Broad Exposure: Gain valuable experience collaborating with diverse teams across a global organization, enhancing your cross-functional communication and project management skills.
  • Skill Development: Deepen your understanding of AI technologies, evaluation methodologies, and product lifecycle management within a healthcare context.
  • Meaningful Impact: Your work will directly contribute to advancing science and improving health outcomes for patients worldwide.
  • Supportive Environment: Elsevier Health champions a healthy work/life balance and offers numerous wellbeing initiatives, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Clinical Foundation: A strong requirement is being a licensed healthcare provider with at least five years of direct clinical experience post-training or certification. This ensures a deep understanding of clinical workflows and patient needs.
  • Educational Acumen: Experience in teaching, mentoring, or academic settings is highly valued, highlighting an ability to understand and contribute to educational tool development.
  • Proactive Learning: While not mandatory, prior experience in evaluating GenAI or digital health products, and experience developing or implementing products within clinical workflows, are significant advantages. This suggests a candidate who is adaptable and forward-thinking.
  • Global Collaboration: The ability to work effectively within a matrixed, cross-functional global organization is essential, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with clinical safety and regulatory considerations for healthcare technology will be beneficial in navigating the complexities of product development.

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a clinically seasoned professional looking to pivot into a dynamic and influential position at the intersection of healthcare, education, and cutting-edge technology.
