Embark on a Purpose-Driven Career in EDI with Techne

The Techne Doctoral Training Partnership, a leading consortium of nine universities in London and the south-east, is seeking a dedicated Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Coordinator. This role offers an exceptional chance to contribute to meaningful initiatives that foster an inclusive and equitable environment for doctoral students and staff within the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) framework.

Key Advantages for Your Career Path:

  • Impactful Work: You will play a vital role in supporting the design, development, and delivery of Techne's EDI objectives. This involves addressing a broad spectrum of equality strands, including gender identity, race, religion, disability, and sexual orientation, allowing you to make a tangible difference.
  • Cross-Institutional Collaboration: This position provides invaluable experience in engaging proactively with academic staff and professional services across multiple Techne institutions. This broad exposure will enhance your networking capabilities and understanding of diverse organizational structures.
  • Flexible Working Structure: The role is structured as a part-time, fixed-term contract (until March 31, 2027). It begins with 0.2 FTE (7 hours per week) for the initial six months, transitioning to 0.1 FTE (3.5 hours per week) thereafter. This flexibility can be highly beneficial for those seeking to balance work with other commitments or career development phases.
  • Attractive Rewards and Benefits: Techne offers a competitive package designed to support its employees. This includes a generous annual leave entitlement, comprehensive training and development opportunities, a pension scheme with a significant employer contribution, and access to various schemes such as Cycle to Work and Season Ticket Loans.
  • Professional Development: As part of the core Techne team, you will have access to development opportunities that will enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of EDI, positioning you for future career growth.
  • Idyllic Work Location: The role is based in Egham, on a beautiful, leafy campus adjacent to Windsor Great Park. Its proximity to London also offers excellent commuting options and access to the vibrant cultural offerings of the capital.

Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Fixed-Term Contract: Candidates should be aware that this is a fixed-term position ending on March 31, 2027. This presents an excellent opportunity for focused project work and significant contributions within a defined period.
  • Part-Time Commitment: The role requires a part-time commitment, with specific hour allocations as detailed in the job description. Candidates should ensure this aligns with their personal and professional goals.
  • Proactive Engagement: Success in this role hinges on your ability to engage proactively and effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders across multiple institutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will be paramount.

This EDI Coordinator position is an exciting prospect for individuals passionate about fostering inclusive environments within higher education. It offers a chance to gain significant experience in a collaborative and supportive setting, contributing to the strategic goals of a prestigious doctoral training partnership.
