What you will be doing This is a great opportunity to take financial responsibility for the Trent 1000 and 7000 engine programmes. The Finance Business Partner will provide financial leadership and control as well as coaching and support to all areas of programme team whilst contributing to wider business decisions to achieve the goal of maximising business plan returns. This will involve: Financial Management Own the accurate and timely production of monthly financial results, delivering effective insight on performance to commitment, identifying and driving key actions to optimise outcomes, co-ordinating opportunities and threats to provide forward guidance and completing performance review packs. Lead the accurate and timely production of major financial forecasts using standard processes and tools, embodying all business and financial commitments and producing effective analysis and insight to communicate and buy-off with key stakeholders. Deliver internal and external control and audit activities including writing audit papers on key accounting issues or judgements, leading internal balance sheet and controls framework activities and liaising with Civil Technical team on accounting issues that emerge as new aftermarket service contracts are delivered, and contracts are renegotiated or restructured. Work collaboratively with finance peers to prepare the annual update of the programme business plan and in the Services organisation to ensure consistency of approach and share best practice. Business Partnering Effectively business partner with cross-functional business peers ensuring financial outcomes are at the heart of business decisions, connecting business action to financial outcomes and influencing decision making across the leadership team. Provide financial guidance, insight and approval to the business, for example on new commercial/services strategies, or to resolve issues arising from existing contractual arrangements to deliver incremental value for the programme. In addition, Partner with the project services team to prepare a total view of the financial performance of individual contracts and the programme as whole and drive key profit margin improvement activities to enhance programme profitability. This would be a great role for anyone who wants to develop their ability to collaborate with cross functional and cross business teams on value creation or risk mitigation activities. You will improve your business breadth and develop a broad business and finance network. In addition, you will play an active role in key business decisions relating to commercial negotiations with airline customers, margin improvement programmes to improve programme profitability and effective financial and business management of the in-service flying fleet and future new engine deliveries into service. Who we are looking for. Qualified Finance Professional (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) Proactive, accountable, good attention to detail and able to work using own initiative. Strong organisation and planning skills with ability to self-generate solutions to problems. Good at developing relationships with the ability to communicate concisely and with impact, to both internal and external audiences. Holistic business mind-set with the ability to formulate strategies and/or influence them, to solve major business challenges.
