Fraud and Financial Crime Oversight Manager

Job at Lloyds Banking Group in Edinburgh, Edinburgh, EH3

## Fraud and Financial Crime Oversight Manager: An Opportunity for Impact and Growth This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fraud and financial crime professional to make a significant impact within a leading financial institution. As a Fraud and Financial Crime Oversight Manager, you will be instrumental in strengthening economic crime risk management and supporting the ambitious growth objectives of the Insurance, Pensions & Investment (IP&I) division. If you are passionate about leveraging innovative technology to combat economic crime and thrive in a dynamic, values-led environment, this position warrants your serious consideration.

The opportunity is situated within the IP&I Risk team, specifically in the Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) unit, which acts as a crucial second line of defence. This is a growing team of eight, dedicated to providing specialist oversight in areas such as fraud, anti-money laundering, sanctions, and anti-bribery. You will play a proactive role, offering data-led advice and challenging existing practices to enhance the control environment.

### Key Advantages for Potential Candidates:
  • Strategic Impact: This role offers the chance to directly influence and shape strategies for economic crime risk management. You will be a key contributor to protecting the organisation and its customers from financial crime.
  • Innovation Focus: The emphasis on deploying innovative technology solutions to tackle economic crime is a significant draw for forward-thinking professionals. You'll have the opportunity to work with and advocate for cutting-edge approaches.
  • Career Development: The organisation demonstrates a commitment to employee growth through substantial investments in people, data, and technology. This role offers opportunities to learn, grow, and potentially step into senior management positions, including deputising for the Senior Manager.
  • Diverse Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will span a broad range, from supporting businesses with regulatory requirements and strengthening controls to fostering a risk-aware culture and engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • Flexible Working: The organisation embraces flexible working, offering hybrid arrangements and job share options, allowing for a better work-life balance.
  • Inclusive Culture: A strong commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident, with established initiatives and a welcoming environment for all employees.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: A generous benefits package is on offer, including a significant pension contribution, annual performance-related bonus, share schemes, adaptable lifestyle benefits, ample holiday, and robust wellbeing and parental leave policies.
### Key Considerations for Your Career Path:
  • Required Expertise: A deep understanding of fraud typologies, controls, and emerging threats is essential. Experience in financial crime risk management (AML, Sanctions, ABC) and a proven track record in shaping and deploying technology solutions are critical.
  • Analytical and Stakeholder Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data and drive decisions are vital. Equally important are excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and communicate effectively at senior levels.
  • Proactive and Change-Oriented Mindset: Candidates who are proactive, identify opportunities for improvement, and champion continuous enhancement of systems and processes will thrive in this role.
  • Location Flexibility: The role is based across Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham, and Leeds. While hybrid working is supported, understanding your preferred location and ability to adhere to the hybrid working model (at least two days per week in an office) is important.
  • Valuable Additional Experience: While not strictly mandatory, experience with emerging fraud prevention technologies (AI, machine learning, biometrics), large-scale transformation projects, global regulatory trends, and professional certifications will significantly enhance your application.

In summary, this Fraud and Financial Crime Oversight Manager position offers a compelling proposition for experienced professionals seeking to advance their careers in a challenging yet rewarding environment. The opportunity to drive innovation, influence strategic direction, and contribute to a purpose-driven organisation, coupled with a supportive and inclusive culture, makes this a role worth exploring for anyone passionate about making a real difference in the fight against economic crime.
