About the Role of Head of Fleet Technical Services:

This role, reporting to the Fleet Director and based at our head office in Derby, offers an exciting opportunity to lead with impact. You’ll provide critical Engineering expertise, ensuring that our fleet operates with the highest levels of safety and reliability. Your work will involve managing and monitoring Fleet Engineering Standards and the Fleet Quality Management System, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, as well as engaging with business and community stakeholders to ensure their views are represented. This role will also ensure compliance with legislation and the national rail contract.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a forward-thinking leader in fleet innovation who is passionate about shaping the future of rail. You’ll engage with the industry, drive process and system improvements, and help deliver EMR’s future strategy.

Chartered Engineer in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Significant knowledge and experience of railway traction and rolling stock systems.Significant experience of working in senior management leadership positions of either technical or operational roles, ideally in rail.Proven experience at leading, inspiring and motivating large, high performing teams; demonstrating high expectations of self and others.Excellent written, verbal communication and numerical skillsKnowledge and understanding of railway standards and legislation.
