To thrive in this Key Account Manager position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Educational Foundation: A degree level education is expected, with a preference for a life sciences or business discipline.
  • Essential Pharmaceutical Sales Experience: Proven experience in pharmaceutical sales, particularly from primary or secondary care settings, is a mandatory requirement.
  • ABPI Qualification: A current and valid ABPI qualification is essential for this role.
  • Therapeutic Area Preference: While not strictly essential, prior experience within the Neurology therapeutic area or in Secondary Care/high-cost medicines will be highly advantageous.
  • Scientific Acumen: The ability to quickly grasp complex scientific information, identify key concepts, and translate them into compelling commercial campaigns is crucial.
  • Stakeholder Management Prowess: Strong stakeholder management skills and a demonstrated track record of effectively managing key accounts are vital.
  • Territory Focus: This role covers the South West & Wales (Cornwall to Gloucester, and Swindon to Swansea). Ideally, candidates will reside within this territory.
  • Mobility: A current and valid driving license is required, along with a willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory.
