Are you an experienced Learning and Development professional looking to make a significant impact within a vital healthcare service? G4S Patient Transport Services is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Learning and Development Manager to join their team, playing a crucial role in shaping the skills and knowledge of their extensive workforce. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of safe, caring, and high-quality patient transport across the Kent and Medway area, with the advantage of a hybrid working model.

G4S Patient Transport Services is a leading provider, supporting the NHS with over 50,000 journeys annually. As the Learning and Development Manager, you will be instrumental in ensuring that their 720+ staff are equipped with the best possible training to uphold these high standards.

What This Opportunity Offers You:

  • Strategic Impact: Lead the design and implementation of a new, OFQUAL-standard induction program and an annual training plan. Your work will directly influence the quality of patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Professional Growth: You'll have the opportunity to offer expert advice, oversee training needs analysis, and develop associated policies. This role encourages continuous professional development for yourself and your team.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Manage the learning and development department, providing ongoing support, mentorship, and educational guidance to L&D specialists, fostering their career progression.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with Governance, Health and Safety, and Operations departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring training reflects lessons learned and best practices.
  • Flexible Working: Benefit from a hybrid working arrangement, offering a balance between in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.
  • Attractive Benefits Package: The role comes with a competitive salary (£38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience) and excellent company benefits, including a contributory pension, life assurance, an employee assistance program, and a subsidised healthcare plan.
  • Meaningful Contribution: Be part of an organisation that is committed to the wellbeing of its employees and the communities it serves.

Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Proven L&D Experience: A strong background in Learning and Development is essential, with a track record of designing and delivering effective training programs.
  • Management Acumen: You will be responsible for managing the L&D department, requiring strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: This is a fast-paced environment with ever-changing scenarios. Candidates who are dynamic, confident, and possess a tenacious "can-do" attitude will thrive.
  • Commitment to Quality: A dedication to maintaining high standards in training delivery, content, and teaching materials is paramount.
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to identify training needs, plan effectively, and align learning initiatives with business objectives is crucial.
  • Security Clearance: Please note that this role is subject to a 3-year checkable history and strict vetting standards, requiring eligibility to work in the UK and a minimum of 3 years’ residency.

This Learning and Development Manager position offers a rewarding career path for those passionate about people development and dedicated to making a difference in a critical service sector. If you are ready to take on a leadership role with significant responsibility and contribute to the ongoing success of G4S Patient Transport Services, we encourage you to explore this opportunity further.
