MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

We are pleased to present an opportunity for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join the G4S Facilities Management team at the Hinkley Point C project. This role offers a stable, permanent, full-time position with a competitive annual salary of £38,928.71, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm.

Located in Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD), this on-site position is crucial for the smooth operation of the Hinkley Point C project. You will be instrumental in managing reactive repair and maintenance tasks, as well as overseeing building and plant maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities and Candidate Advantages:

This role offers a dynamic and hands-on approach to maintenance, allowing you to develop a broad skillset. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to Building Management System (BMS) generated alarms and faults, providing an excellent opportunity to hone your diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Executing planned Workspace Re-engineering tasks, showcasing your ability to contribute to proactive facility improvement.
  • Utilising a Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to generate work requests, fostering meticulous record-keeping and traceability skills essential for modern facility management.
  • Supporting the maintenance of CAD layout drawings, which can enhance your understanding of building infrastructure and design.
  • Acting as an Accompanying Safety Person, reinforcing your commitment to and understanding of health and safety protocols on site.
  • Conducting daily plant monitoring duties and recording details, developing your observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Overseeing and coordinating subcontractors, providing valuable experience in project management and vendor relations.
  • Performing comprehensive maintenance inspections and repairs on various assets, including building fabric, estate elements, furniture, internal/external fixtures, grounds, access, and parking, thus broadening your practical maintenance expertise.
  • Fulfilling Health and Safety responsibilities in accordance with G4S Corporate Part B, ensuring a strong understanding of industry-leading safety standards.
