Job Title: Medical Director, Oncology & Rare Diseases - Egypt

Introduction to role:Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming medical affairs within AstraZeneca? As the Medical Director for Oncology & Rare Diseases in Egypt, you'll spearhead strategies that position AstraZeneca as a scientific leader, ensuring rapid and high-quality market access. This role is all about building a customer-centric, performance-driven medical function that aligns with our values and behaviors. You'll be at the forefront of evidence generation and dissemination, strengthening governance, and developing capabilities across the board.

Accountabilities:

Define priorities and design strategic medical plans that align with country scorecards, translating scientific leadership into actionable outcomes.

Collaborate cross-functionally to develop strategic Therapy Areas/Brands plans for optimal dissemination of scientific evidence pre and post product launch, adhering to Local Health Authority guidelines.

Enhance Medical Organizational Effectiveness by building a customer-focused, performance-driven department with robust systems and processes.

Support AstraZeneca's establishment as a scientific leader through proactive medical inputs.

Generate medical evidence to support brand strategy in priority Therapy Areas (TAs) addressing unmet medical needs.

Provide medical expertise to shape regulatory environments for rapid and high-quality market access of AstraZeneca products.

Ensure adherence to processes, policies, SOPs, Pharma Codes, and local laws & regulations, including patient safety and clinical trials.

Develop capabilities across the function and communicate AZ culture and values.

Foster individual and team accountability.

Essential Skills/Experience:

Physician/Medical Doctor/Bachelor degree from a Medical or Pharmaceutical School

Extensive experience in Medical Affairs function within a multinational pharmaceutical company

Extensive experience in relationship and stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

Excellent Leadership Capabilities to lead change and transformation in Medical function with strategic thinking and leadership stance

Extensive team management experience

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Diploma, Master Degree or PhD is a plus

Clinical knowledge is a plus

Oncology / Rare Diseases Experience is a plus
