What You'll Be Doing:
As a Principal Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will be central to ensuring the safety and integrity of complex vehicle systems. You will:
- Lead the creation and execution of robust safety cases and compelling safety arguments.
- Conduct in-depth hazard identification and analysis, utilising methods such as HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, and FTA.
- Define and meticulously manage safety requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with diverse engineering teams to embed safety principles at every stage of development.
- Support the development of comprehensive safety plans, assessments, and crucial compliance evidence for stakeholders.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A proven track record in developing and delivering comprehensive safety cases and supporting documentation.
- Significant experience in safety engineering, ideally within the defence, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
- A degree in engineering, safety, or a closely related technical discipline.
- A strong understanding of key safety standards such as DEF STAN 00-056, ISO 26262, or IEC 61508.
