The Role
As Privacy Director and Carnival UK Data Protection Officer you'll play a pivotal role in steering the direction of the Global Privacy team, delivering a programme that supports the commercial, people and business agenda across the UK and North America as well as serving as the Data Protection Officer for Carnival UK.
Your direction will not only ensure we meet our supervisory, guest and employee expectations for compliant personal data processing, but will also inspire a culture of trust and integration between the business and the Privacy team.
As a Senior Leader within the wider Global Ethics & Compliance team you will collaborate with personnel at all levels within the company globally to identify, assess, monitor and report on Privacy and Data Protection compliance risk and report to internal stakeholders, including our Brand Leaders and Board of Directors.
Key accountabilities include:
Driving the vision, planning, delivery and monitoring of Privacy and Data Protection processes to ensure that Carnival UK meets its obligations and external expectations for appropriate management of personal data. This will include collaborating with the North American Data Privacy team and Data Privacy leaders across the companys European operating companies, as well as senior management, Legal, IT, and other business functions; to establish a recognized and accepted Privacy and Data Protection governance structure. Defining, drafting and implementing policies and processes that enable consistent, effective Privacy and Data Protection practices to be adopted across the company and monitoring the implementation of the same in Carnival UK. Communicating Privacy and Data Protection policies and procedures to employees and business partners through training and awareness activities including advising business units regarding compliance with privacy laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures. Significant proven experience of leading data protection compliance programmes in large multinational companies. Demonstrable understanding of privacy and data protection laws, standards and best practices.
