The role:
Management of an assigned BA Roadmap project or projects, to successfully deliver the defined business objectives, using a consistent approach and governance structure, on time, to budget and with the agreed scope and quality.
What you’ll do:
Be responsible for the delivery of all project management activities within projects assigned from the BA Roadmap, ensuring highly effective deployment into steady state, including deployment of continuous improvement capability. Define resource demand forecast for the projects assigned from the BA roadmap and as part of ongoing plan and schedule management, and managing resource levels ensuring both budget targets and programme/portfolio objectives are achieved Planning, scheduling, financial management, estimating and forecasting all elements of the projects assigned Risk, Assumption, Issue and Dependency Management Creation and maintenance of robust financial criteria and management structures for each project assigned Builds and sustains strong working relationships with accountable business owners and senior managers on their projects. Acts as a trusted advisor and business partner, in the successful delivery of projects Ensures delivery to agreed specifications, timescales and budget whilst adhering to internal control needs.
What you’ll bring to British Airways:
Good effective leadership, communication, influencing at all levels (written and verbal) and successfully manage expectations Demonstrable experience of successful delivery of projects across functions and directorates. Experience of working on IT programmes highly desirable. Ability to effectively lead and motivate individuals & teams (direct/indirect), working collaboratively to delivery results in a matrix management environment Good individual and team management Proven ability to work under pressure Risk management with risks identified, options agreed & plan in place. Contingency planning – in depth knowledge of both contingency planning and mitigation. Ability to challenge the status quo where necessary through well structured and fact driven arguments Budget, schedule and scope management External and internal supplier management including contract management and negotiation
Your experience:
Professional Programme Management accreditation (e.g. MOP, MSP, PMP, P3O or Prince 2) preferred Degree qualification is advantageous but not essential. Agile methodology (SAFe) desirable Aviation experience preferred
