We are looking to recruit two Research Assistants (RAs) with a research profile in Machine Learning and Computer Vision to join our Agri-Tech research team.
You will work as part of a research team in the “Using eye-tracking and AI to enhance the PeRformance Of fruit PICKers” (PROPICK) project funded by Lincam Ceres Agri-tech. PROPICK is going to provide strawberry growers with a training tool that they can use to upskill their pickers quickly and effectively, maximising productivity but also improving quality. This will be achieved by a combination of AI and behavioural science.
One of the key components of the project is the apply machine learning algorithms on video data to extract human behavioural patterns (from egocentric and exocentric views). For that purpose, we are looking to recruit two RAs with interest and experience in at least one of the following research areas:
Computer vision and Machine learning; Human action recognition; Eye tracking analysis; Sensor fusion; Monitoring systems for online fault detectionYou should have:
A BSc or MSc in a relevant area; A track record of research publication in relevant journals and/or conferences such as ICRA, IROS, HRI. Excellent mathematical and coding skills (Python); Experience with software kits for building, testing, and deploying AI models (e.g. Pytorch, TensorFlow); Knowledge of version control systems (GIT); Expertise in running or analysing experiments with human participantsIn support of our commitment to developing colleagues by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion, applications for this opportunity will only be accepted from people who are currently employed by the University of Lincoln, our current students, and any currently engaged agency workers who have been with us for more than 12 weeks. We actively encourage applications from all colleagues across the University with the relevant skills and experience.
This opportunity will give the RAs access to state-of-the-art research farms equipped with industrial standard production facilities. Informal enquiries about the post can be made to Dr Leonardo Guevara (email: [email protected]).
