You will be instrumental in anticipating future skill requirements, assessing current capabilities, and developing actionable plans to bridge any gaps. Your insights and analysis will directly influence BT’s People Strategy, contributing to a workforce that is agile, skilled, and prepared to deliver on the company's ambitious long-term goals.

Key Responsibilities and What You'll Be Doing:

  • Acting as a strategic consultant to business partners and leaders, offering expert advice on workforce planning initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of BT’s overarching Strategic Workforce Plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Driving the evolution of the Strategic Workforce Planning roadmap to enhance its maturity, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Leading the design and implementation of strategic workforce management tooling, collaborating closely with Digital partners.
  • Conducting ongoing market analysis and benchmarking to maintain best-in-class internal practices.
  • Developing and disseminating workforce data and insights to inform strategic decision-making across the organization.

Advantages for Potential Candidates:

  • Career Development: BT offers world-class training and development opportunities, supporting your continuous learning and career progression.
  • Hybrid Working: This role offers a hybrid working model, providing flexibility with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely across major UK cities: London, Bristol, Birmingham, or Manchester.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Beyond a competitive salary, BT provides an attractive benefits package including a 10% on-target bonus, a generous pension scheme, enhanced family leave, extensive health and well-being support, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), and share saving schemes.
  • Join a Legacy and a Future: Become part of BT Group, a company with an unparalleled heritage in telecommunications and a clear vision for the future, including its vital role in the UK’s digital infrastructure transformation.
  • Inclusive Culture: BT is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace where everyone can thrive. They encourage applications from individuals who may not meet every single qualification but are enthusiastic about the role.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Analytical Acumen: This role demands strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex and often incomplete data sets to generate actionable insights and recommendations. Proficiency in Excel modelling is a minimum requirement.
  • Strategic Thinking: You'll need to develop strategies for change that are aligned with organizational goals, while also anticipating future trends and potential challenges.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify inefficiencies in complex processes and design practical, effective solutions is crucial.
  • Relationship Building and Influence: Success in this role hinges on your ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders at all levels, communicate clearly, and navigate conflict effectively.
  • Understanding of Workforce Value: A solid grasp of how current and future workforces contribute to value creation, revenue generation, and maintaining competitive advantage is essential.
  • Experience in Strategic Workforce Planning (Desirable): While not strictly essential, familiarity with the strategic workforce planning lifecycle – including forecasting future needs, gap analysis, and developing talent strategies – will be highly beneficial.

This opportunity is ideal for ambitious individuals seeking to make a tangible impact within a forward-thinking organization. If you are passionate about shaping the future of work and possess a strong blend of analytical, strategic, and interpersonal skills, this role at BT Group could be an excellent next step in your career journey.
