We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.

ABOUT THE TEAM AND THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sunderland in London at a pivotal time in our growth and transformation. Based at our award-winning Harbour Exchange campus near Canary Wharf, you’ll be part of a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment that puts students at the heart of everything we do. As Student Support and Administration Senior Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the entire student journey; from enrolment through to graduation and ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
You’ll lead and inspire a high-performing team across Student Support, Student Administration, and Student Journey functions, working together to deliver seamless, student-centred services. Our culture is fast-paced yet supportive, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and championing the student voice.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To excel in this role, you’ll bring proven senior-level experience in managing student support and administration services within a higher education (HE) setting. You will be an inspiring leader with a track record of driving service excellence, implementing process improvements, and delivering large-scale operational projects. A deep understanding of the HE sector, programme structures, and compliance requirements, particularly UKVI and immigration regulations is essential.
You’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational expertise, using data and student insights to shape services and enhance the student experience. Exceptional communication and influencing skills will enable you to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, while your ability to manage competing priorities under pressure will ensure success in a fast-paced environment.
