Team/Role Overview

Citis Business Expense Transparency Team are responsible for reporting all Transactional and Market Data expenses booked for Citi. This includes reporting, analysis and transactional & market data expense optimisation for the Markets business.What youll do​:

Ensure transaction expenses are accurate and allocated to the correct trading desks and businessesMange the booking of accruals (estimates) based on trade data to ensure current month expenses are accurately accounted forManage the Balance Sheet monitoring and reporting process for the BET teamAssist with the month end close process for Transaction Expenses to tight deadlinesTrade Analytics & Trend Monitoring – work with trade analytics team to develop enhanced accuracy of expense reporting via integration of VarCiti platform into month end activitiesAttend and contribute to monthly review meetings with Trading Desks, Business Chief Accounting Officers, Financial Planning and Action. This includes discussing actual expense results vs plan and historic trendParticipate in projects that target trading and post trade efficienciesMonitor and track developments in vendor landscape and changes to regulatory requirements that affect each business unitDevelop cost benefit reports based on necessary analysis with data points that include trade volume, fee schedules, and vendor contractsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What well need from you​:

Experience in process improvement, financial products, general accounting, and general ledgerExperience with large data setsProficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (v lookups, SUMIFS, pivot tables)Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirementsAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentBachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMay also be suited to candidates currently studying for an accounting qualification e.g. CIMA/ACCA
