Why this job matters

Based on the DCP Customer site this role is key to the delivery of the DCP/Dorset contract. The role holder(s) provide a technical skillset to deliver ICT projects. These projects range from small application changes to very large, highly complex Project(s), programmes or portfolios. The team ensure the technical requirements are delivered to estimated time and cost. The team deliver c.2500 days of effort within a financial year across c.400 projects.

The role of Team Leader of the Technical Consultant plays a central role in overseeing the successful delivery of technical projects, acting as the main point of contact for all technical streams. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, leading project kick-off calls, triaging incoming work, and ensuring technical consistency and quality across all initiatives.

As the technical lead, the individual is responsible for driving progress, resolving escalations, and aligning technical activities with business goals. They serve as the go-to person for all project-related queries and support the team in navigating technical challenges.

What you’ll be doing

1. Lead and coordinate technical aspects of multiple IT projects from initiation through delivery2. Attend and chair project start-up calls, ensuring clear understanding of scope, roles, and timelines3. Triage incoming technical queries, incidents, and requests, assigning tasks based on urgency and expertise4. Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, project managers, stakeholders, and clients5. Responsible for providing Technical Consultancy services for the Devonshire and Cornwall Police Contract ensuring that customer needs are met as per the contractual requirement delivering technical skills to perform Resource Services tower activities across projects and small changes

Flexible WorkingThis role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
