The Role: Tribe Lead – Platform
Join British Airways as a Tribe Lead – Platform and take the helm of building and evolving the digital backbone that powers our customer-facing products and internal systems. This role is your opportunity to lead platform strategy, drive innovation, and enable scalability and resilience across our technology estate.
What You’ll Do:
Define and lead the strategy for the platform tribe, covering core services, APIs, integrations, and shared infrastructure. Own the delivery of platform capabilities that empower other product teams and ensure business agility. Partner closely with Technology & Architecture to align platform evolution with enterprise architecture. Manage priorities across identity, payments, content management, security, and scalability. Drive modernisation through cloud-first, API-led development and continuous delivery principles. Balance technical vision with practical delivery, ensuring robustness, compliance, and performance.What You’ll Bring to British Airways:
A strategic mindset with a deep understanding of platform thinking and digital foundations. Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate across disciplines. Strong grasp of modern technology stacks, integration frameworks, and DevOps principles. A structured, pragmatic approach to delivery in complex, regulated environments.Your Experience:
Experience leading platform product teams or enterprise-scale tech modernisation programmes. Strong background in API strategy, security, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise platforms.
