Aon are currently recruiting a Underwriting Assistant to join our team.

 

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Chelmsford office

What the day will look like

Assisting Underwriters in the processing of new and renewal accounts for a Global Binding Authority Facility.Supporting a portfolio of different insurance classes of business.Supporting our offshore team with timely completion of post bind administrative processes.Accurately recording risk details on our Policy Administration System in a timely fashion.Liaise with brokers and internal departments for risk information.Assisting with compiling reports for insurers.Ensuring compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurers by running control reports and correcting any errorsBuilding excellent working relationships with our Underwriters and insurers.

Aon Underwriting Managers

AUM undertakes underwriting and claims handling services on behalf of insurers and delivers expertise in specific product ranges or trade sectors. AUM focuses on commercial insurance products across Accident and Health, Property and Casualty, Financial Lines and Marine sectors.   AUM fulfils many of the roles of an insurance company - underwrites (evaluates the risks and exposures of potential clients against the insurance covers), prices (determines the premium that is charged to insure that risk), issues policies, mid-term adjustments and renewals and on some facilities, manages the claims handling and settlement.

AUM has an in-depth understanding of the diverse range of solutions that we offer and our insurance products are specially designed and unique to Aon. 

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Prior experience in an underwriting support role will be looked upon favourablyMinimum A level standard (or equivalent)        Good written and oral communication skills.Self-disciplined and organisedTeam playerHigh level of numeracyComputer literacy including competent in Microsoft Office.
