What the day will look like

Help oversee the underwriting process including aggregates for the Terrorism SPSProvide guidance and training on technical underwriting issues to any direct reportsAbility to quote new, renewal and mid term amendments in line with the delegates underwriting authorityagreement and Underwriting guideEnsuring that individual risks are bound promptly and in accordance with the delegated underwritingauthorityRecording of risks on the Policy Administration System in an accurate and timely fashionMeeting agreed service standard to bind risks and ensure that the relevant policies are accurate and issuedwithin agreed timescalesEnsuring full compliance with the Delegated Authority from insurersBuilding an excellent working relationship with the Local retail networks and GBC teamsBuilding excellent working relationships with supporting insurerParticipate in regular insurer meetings to review progress of the facilityWork with Insurers to deliver the underwriting strategy, to understand Insurers’ risk appetite andexpectationsMaintain a high level of technical knowledge and input into technical and commercial market intelligenceMonitor and control of new and renewal business, including aggregate monitoringCompleting Mid Term adjustments accurately and in a timely mannerTo act fully in compliance with FCA rules and guidelines and with Aon PolicyAssist in meeting the teams financial budget/plan

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Previous Terrorism or International Property experience in the London Insurance MarketTrack record in technical UnderwritingWell-developed influencing skills and the ability to achieve success through othersExcellent problem-solving skills, analytical and numerical skillsProven interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with domestic and international clients, businessstakeholders and external bodies.Commercial acumen and negotiation skills of the highest order.Able to motivate and inspire team to achieve successMotivation, coaching and development of staffWell-developed knowledge of FSA requirements and standardsAble to establish and maintain relationships with brokers and carriers
