Assistant Plant Manager

As a Assistant Plant Manager you will assist the Plant Manager in the day-to-day operations, compliance and improvement of the Residues Services areas and associated facilities.

You will report to the Plant Manager – Residues Services and be located at Springfields Fuel Site. This is an onsite role.

Key Responsibilities:

Deputising for the Plant Manager where required. Plan and execute daily plant operations following SIOP. Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety case requirements including the preparation and maintenance of safety case documents. Improve all aspects of plant and personnel safety. Define, measure, and improve Key Performance Indicators (SQCPD). Process mapping for identification and delivery plant improvements. Providing advice and guidance on technical aspects of plant operations including technical and operational problem solving. Monitor and improve Cost of Poor Quality, Yield and Right First-Time metrics. Liaison with external customer representatives and other stakeholders (internal and external). Develop and coach plant personnel. Monitor and improve cost per unit.

Qualifications:

Typically Engineering Degree (minimum 2:2) qualified or equivalent experience in relevant discipline. We may consider suitable, relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications. 3 Years' experience in production operations environment Ideally, the company considers candidates with knowledge and experience in operations management and planning, but it will consider other candidates. A background of working within the chemical industry and awareness of the hazards, other, similar industries would be considered. Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Regulations, Safety Cases for nuclear facilities and COMAH. Lean Manufacturing (Including Process Mapping), high performance leadership and practical problem-solving skills would be an advantage.
