This role offers a chance to contribute to a vital area of service delivery, providing crucial administrative support within a dynamic team environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Children's Services Administrator, you will be an integral part of the PII Business Support Team, a dedicated group focused on facilitating the efficient operation of the Participation, Innovation & Improvement portfolio. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied, but will primarily involve:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support across various strands of the PII portfolio, including critical processes like Child Protection and Child Looked After.
  • Engaging in data management, which includes formulating, inputting, and analyzing information within spreadsheets.
  • Managing document indexing using the Azeus system.
  • Handling postal requirements and processing room bookings.
  • Supporting financial administration tasks, such as raising orders, goods receipting, and invoice processing.
  • Potential involvement in minute-taking for meetings, with training available.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Varied and Impactful Work: This role offers exposure to diverse administrative tasks that directly support the well-being of children and families.
  • Professional Development: East Riding is committed to investing in your growth. You will benefit from support and guidance through the Effective Practice Academy, with opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Career Progression: The organization actively supports career aspirations, helping you identify and achieve your professional goals within East Riding.
  • Access to Resources: Gain access to valuable industry resources such as Community Care Inform and Regional and National Forums, enhancing your understanding and expertise.
  • Supportive Team Environment: Become part of a small, close-knit team that highly values positive relationships and collaborative working.
  • Child-Centred Approach: Contribute to a service that is fundamentally committed to being child-centred in all its operations.
  • Commitment to Values: Work within an organization that has a well-defined practice model, emphasizing a shared language and common values for effective service delivery.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Experience is Desirable: While not strictly essential, prior experience in a Children's Social Care administrative environment will be highly advantageous.
  • IT Proficiency: A strong command of IT systems, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams, along with experience in service-specific packages like Azeus, is expected.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are vital for liaising with social workers, team managers, colleagues, and family members, often through email and postal correspondence.
  • Confidentiality and Initiative: A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, adhering to Data Protection requirements, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively are essential.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: A flexible and adaptable approach is key to succeeding in this role, particularly given the relational nature of the work.
  • Travel Requirements: While the primary base is County Hall in Beverley, there may be a requirement to travel across the East Riding footprint.

This position is ideal for a motivated individual looking to build a career in children's services and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment. If you are passionate about making a difference and possess the required administrative acumen, this role presents a compelling opportunity.
