The position requires a presence in London 3-4 times per month, with flexible and hybrid working options available.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Instructional Designer to make a significant impact on employee growth and capability development within a global health organization. You'll be instrumental in creating engaging and effective learning solutions that drive business performance and foster a culture of continuous learning.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Meaningful Impact: Play a pivotal role in shaping learning experiences that empower Bupa's people, contributing directly to building future capabilities, strengthening leadership, and fostering a culture of growth and belonging.
  • Career Growth & Development: Work with diverse audiences, from individual contributors to senior leaders, and design blended learning solutions using both internal methodologies and established external frameworks. This role offers continuous learning opportunities through exposure to emerging technologies and best practices in instructional design.
  • Hybrid & Flexible Working: Benefit from a hybrid working model, with the requirement to be in the London office only 3-4 times per month, offering a great work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Receive a generous benefits package designed to support your wellbeing, including 25 days of holiday (increasing with service), Bupa medical insurance, an enhanced pension plan, life insurance, free health assessments, and an annual performance-based bonus.
  • Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: Bupa champions diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from all backgrounds. As a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer, they are committed to offering interviews to all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria and will provide reasonable adjustments.
  • Global Reach: Contribute to learning solutions for a large, global organization, gaining experience in adapting content for diverse audiences and cultural contexts.

Key Considerations for Candidates:

  • Instructional Design Expertise: A strong foundation in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and learning sciences is crucial. Proven experience in designing blended learning programmes for large, global organizations is essential.
  • Content Development Skills: The ability to translate complex business topics into engaging, learner-centric digital and instructor-led content is a core requirement. Experience with authoring tools, LXPs, and educational technologies will be highly valued.
  • Stakeholder Management: This role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts, faculty, business leaders, and learning business partners. Strong communication, consultation, and influencing skills are vital.
  • Analytical Approach: Candidates should be comfortable implementing multi-level evaluation strategies, including measuring business impact and ROI, and continuously improving learning content based on feedback and insights.
  • Adaptability: Experience working in matrixed, multicultural environments with distributed teams will be beneficial, as will the ability to adapt programmes for diverse global audiences.
  • London Presence: While flexible, candidates must be able to commit to being in the London office 3-4 times per month.

This Instructional Designer role at Bupa presents a rewarding career opportunity for a skilled professional looking to contribute to a purpose-driven organization focused on helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives. If you are passionate about learning and development, possess strong instructional design capabilities, and thrive in a collaborative environment, this role could be an excellent step in your career path.
