Social and Engagement Manager

Job at University of Lincoln in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN6

Help us shape conversations, build communities, and create content that matters.

At the University of Lincoln, we’re proud to do things differently. In a sector often defined by safe, predictable marketing, we’ve chosen a more creative, culturally aware path — one that connects with audiences authentically and avoids the dreaded dull. Our ‘University of No Regrets’ platform reflects that ambition: bold, relevant, and built for a generation that expects clarity, creativity, and proof.

Now, we’re looking for a Social & Engagement Manager to lead the next stage of our digital journey.

The Role

This is your chance to take the reins of our social media presence and online engagement strategy — turning insight into impact and conversation into conversion. You’ll lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of social and digital engagement activity across our channels, ensuring everything we do supports recruitment, reputation, and engagement goals.

You’ll:

Develop and deliver a social media strategy that reflects our brand and audience priorities.Build active, positive communities across key platforms through authentic communication.Create and curate engaging content — from video and photography to social-first campaigns — that resonates with prospective students and advocates.Monitor performance, analyse trends, and use insight to drive continuous improvement.Act as the University’s lead specialist in social media, promoting best practice and supporting colleagues and ambassadors.

What You’ll Bring

Experience managing corporate or large-scale social media channels.A strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, and audience behaviour.Creative flair and cultural awareness — you know what makes content shareable and conversations meaningful.Skills in analytics and reporting to measure success and inform strategy.Confidence to manage sensitive issues with professionalism and sound judgement.

Why Lincoln?

We’re ambitious, creative, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. This role is central to how we connect with audiences and grow our reputation — offering the chance to deliver work with genuine cultural and commercial impact.

If you love building communities, shaping conversations, and breaking category norms, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing Date: 03 Feb 2026

Department: Administrative and Professional Services

Salary: £38,784 per annum Please note, this post is permanent and full-time at 37 hours per week.
