Job Description Job Title: Team Leader (Rail) Location: Doncaster Reports to: Supervisor or Site Team Leader (role dependant) Job Summary: This role is to support the Site Team Leader or Supervisor by leading a shift within a depot or mobile and acting as the main focal point for preventive and corrective activities within a shift. Take line management responsibility for the engineers within the shift. Deputise for the Site Team Leader or Supervisor as and when required. To embrace digitalisation. Key Responsibilities: Proactive involvement in the Company HSQE management processes. Submit observation/near miss reports and encourage others in the team to do so as well. Support investigations into observation/near misses, accidents or incidents. Perform preventative and corrective scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule. Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures. Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary to obtain sign off for work that has been carried out on the customers equipment. Undertake fault finding and repair when required using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides). Completion of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer. To participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required. Control and motivation of the team in order to maximise the available hours and to assist when required with technical and product support issues. When necessary order parts and completion of documentation. Ensure all team members are complying with the Rolls-Royce Quality and Environmental standards. Monitor team competence and take appropriate action for shortfalls. Providing technical support to team members as and when required. Conduct quality and competency inspections as necessary. This list is not exhaustive and may change. Person Profile: In addition to the engineer characteristics (A self-starter who works safely and methodically. Is personable, has good engineering hygiene and looks forward to coming to work. Has good communication skills with integrity with a thorough understanding of the Rolls-Royce values.), the team leader has the ability to make decisions and escalate when required. Able to motivate the team and be available to support them. Personality / Job Skills – from an engineering background with relevant qualifications, an enthusiastic person, proactive and with good initiative, organising skills and a flexible attitude. Works well with others. Outstanding safety awareness. Computer Skills - proficient in Microsoft Office, able to work with varied cloud based applications. Literacy and Numeracy - Must be a competent writer of business letters, emails and engineering reports.
