The Estates Management & Development Team
The Estates Management & Development team plays a crucial role in the University's success. They are responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, compliance, sustainability, and ongoing development of the University's estate. This team is integral to supporting the University's strategic objectives, including its significant commitment to environmental sustainability and carbon reduction.
The Role: Technical Officer (Compliance)
This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and motivated individual to join the Estates team as a Technical Officer (Compliance). Reporting to the Head of Engineering, Compliance & Sustainability, this role is offered on a 0.6 FTE basis, equating to three days per week. The specific working days are open to discussion with the successful candidate.
In this varied and impactful role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the University adheres to all statutory obligations across a range of critical technical areas. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Maintaining and developing robust compliance records and statutory documentation.
- Ensuring adherence to regulations concerning electrical systems, radiology equipment, fire safety, gas, water, and safe working practices.
- Leading improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
- Supervising contractors to ensure quality and compliance in their work.
- Developing and refining data capture and reporting systems to support informed decision-making.
