Job Title: Digital Technician (Making Plant – Liquids) Location: Port Sunlight (Site based) Work-Level: 18 JOB PURPOSE Are you inspired by digital technology? Our Future Fit Manufacturing program needs a delivery orientated change agent with solid operational experience to drive our digital factory agenda, to make automation and digitisation a day-to-day reality. You will lead and co-ordinate the deployment activities that are needed to drive the program across Unilever global supply chain. This role requires acquiring and connecting multiple data sources in a standardised format, analysing the data and identifying areas of opportunities, modifying the data into an accessible format and capability building across the shop floor Our vision is to make digitalisation of supply chain a competitive advantage for Unilever, driven by engineering and technology. We are poised to apply cutting edge automation and digital tools to optimise our factories across the supply chain and we need someone who can work to solve the real-life challenges that deliver this transformation. Working closely and collaboratively with internal and external teams to coordinate and implement Digital Manufacturing Roadmap activities. Responsible for effectively coordinating and managing all Masterplans through digital programs as a partner to the Port Sunlight SU teams. You will lead the manufacturing piece in optimising E2E value chains though technical solution deployment enabling market leading agility and flexibility. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the process of the factory engagement with and deployment of Digital Factory Standard tools with a clear, deliverable plan aligned per SU, building capabilities where gaps are identified Digital technology master: ability to tag equipment, extract the data and create a user-friendly interface You will lead the culture change to use digital tools and be the driving force for the project implementation Using data analytics provide reports and insights pulling from systems such as PCS7 You will follow EEM process for any change Lead the ongoing organization and implementation of digital factory training programs (DFOS, BuildApp etc.) Collaborate with engineering and other resources as needed including but not limited to: Automation and Control engineers, contractors and training team resources Generate, Distribute and Train out Microsoft Tools and applications (e.g. PowerBI based applications) to drive manufacturing improvement and production cost savings within the Digital Factory data Leading automation of process parameters/machine settings ensuring data needed by the operational teams is made available and user-friendly to support RTS, capability building and problem solving Ensure digitality enabled deployment of the SU Masterplan and UMS pillar improvement Roadmap, delivering visible KPI improvements; amongst other things in driving safety, quality and OEE improvements Ensure ongoing communication for best practice between digital factory users Identify opportunities for experimentation and further development of the digital factory platform within manufacturing, the wider supply chain and with our partners Site digital pillar member. ALL ABOUT YOU What You’ll Need to Succeed Essential Firsthand experience/ track record of delivering and managing projects within Unilever or similar FMCG environment Experience in problem solving Literate in coding or PLC programs Understanding of plant control systems and structure Professional engineering skills desirable Knowledge of database tools and application development Ability to communicate and influence across both operational and technical stakeholders Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously Working knowledge of Microsoft tools, specifically Power BI, Excel, Sharepoint. Desired Knowledge of data analytics tools linked and the use of data sets in Microsoft Azure Financial skills in creation of business case and value measurement Working knowledge operational KPIS and the principles of World Class Manufacturing Operational Technology experience in connecting the plant floor to Industrial IOT platforms Knowledge of PLC, Siemens programs etc. NOTES About Unilever Unilever is one of the world leading suppliers of Food, Home and Personal Care products with sales in over 190 countries and reaching 2 billion consumers a day.
