The Royal Docks School of Business & Law (RDSBL) is a vibrant academic community focused on delivering transformational education and real-world experience. Since 2014, the LAC has provided crucial free legal support to local residents, simultaneously offering students invaluable hands-on experience in areas such as housing, family, and employment law. Opportunity: Legal Assistant (Full-time, Campus-Based)
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and organised Legal Assistant to become a key player in the daily operations of UEL's Legal Advice Centre. Working in a campus-based role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth running of the LAC, supporting its crucial community outreach and clinical legal education initiatives. You will collaborate closely with the LAC Director, Lead, and supervising solicitor, contributing to a supportive and enriching environment for both clients and students.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing and updating client databases and case management systems.
- Providing essential support for client interactions, including communications and legal research assistance.
- Organising and promoting LAC events, workshops, and public lectures.
- Coordinating student volunteer engagement, including rota creation and monitoring.
- Handling administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and managing confidential information.
- Managing the LAC's social media presence and creating engaging content for students.
- Coordinating meetings, room bookings, and logistical arrangements.
- Assisting with reporting requirements, including compiling statistics and preparing newsletters.
- Supporting the development of new partnerships and external collaborations.
- Ensuring adherence to data protection, client confidentiality, and equality standards.
- Maintaining your SRA training record as part of your professional development.
