This role offers a compelling opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organisation that prioritises exceptional care and values its people.

At Care UK, the core values of Caring, Passionate, and Teamwork are more than just words; they are the foundation of every interaction and decision. This position within the Facilities Management (FM) support team is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our vibrant care homes. You'll be instrumental in delivering essential FM support to our care home teams, contractors, and various internal stakeholders.

What This Role Entails:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for a variety of stakeholders, including care home staff, the FM team, and external contractors, ensuring clear, efficient, and professional communication at all times.
  • Managing the initiation and processing of maintenance requests and quotation assessments through the Computer-Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
  • Navigating and adhering to expenditure approval processes, collaborating closely with management and finance teams.
  • Proactively managing outstanding tasks with suppliers and ensuring the satisfactory completion of work, fostering positive relationships and maintaining high standards.
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including key suppliers and contractors.
  • Contributing actively to FM Support Team meetings, offering valuable feedback on existing processes and proposing innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Engaging in the company's appraisal system for regular professional development and feedback.
  • Ensuring all mandatory training requirements are met to uphold best practice standards.

Key Considerations for Aspiring Candidates:

  • Career Growth in a Dynamic Sector: This role provides a fantastic entry point into the vital field of facilities management within the healthcare sector. You'll gain invaluable experience in coordinating support for essential services that directly impact the well-being of residents.
  • Developing Essential Skills: You will hone your organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities by managing a wide array of tasks and interacting with diverse groups. The experience gained in stakeholder management and process adherence will be highly transferable.
  • Impactful Contribution: Your role will directly contribute to maintaining safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environments for residents, making your work genuinely meaningful.
  • Building a Professional Network: This position offers the chance to build a robust professional network within Care UK and with external service providers, which can be a significant asset for future career progression.

What We're Looking For in You:

  • While not essential, any existing knowledge of buildings and building systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk support functions is beneficial.
  • A strong ability to report effectively on progress and communicate clearly with individuals at various levels within an organisation.
